Overview 

Certificate in Dental Radiography 

This is a 6-month blended learning course consisting of a variety of monthly classroom session and online tutorials. 

Success in this qualification will act as a valuable step in accessing Dental Hygiene and Therapy courses.

Course Content 

The course follows the syllabus set out by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) and covers the role of the Dental Radiography Nurse and includes topics such as Physics and Properties of Radiation, Radiation Protection and methods of taking different radiographic views.

Learners will:

• Take a variety of dental radiographs under the supervision of their dentist in the workplace
• Complete a Record of Competence (RoC) record clinical practice 
• Successfully complete a 90 minutes written multiple-choice exam

Entry Requirements 

• Qualified and GDC Registered Dental Nurse
• Working in a dental practice
• Access to patients requiring radiographs
• Support of their dentist acting as witness and mentor
